Why I Built OrthoRevision FRCS
When I was preparing for the FRCS, revision felt fragmented.
One day I was watching Youtube videos. The next I was reading one textbook. Then another a online course or PDF. Constantly trying to remember which resource explained a topic best.
Every resource had a different style. Many contradicted one another. There was no logical pathway from beginner to exam-ready.

I wanted a resource that I wish had existed during my own training.

A platform where you could start at the beginning, work through each topic in order and know that by the end you had covered everything that matters.

That became the OrthoRevisionFRCS Project.

My goal is simple
To make FRCS learning structured, consistent and achievable for every orthopaedic trainee.

Meet Mr BM Sephton
I’m Ben Sephton, an FRCS (Tr & Orth) qualified Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon, educator, and the creator of OrthoRevision, CSTRevision, MRCSRevision and the ST3 Trauma & Orthopaedic Interview Preparation books.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine. Throughout my own training, I found revision resources were often fragmented, inconsistent, and expensive. My goal has always been to create the learning platform I wished I’d had—structured, practical, affordable, and designed to help trainees understand concepts rather than simply memorise facts.

I graduated from the University of Leeds with Dual Honours in Medicine and Anatomy, ranked in the top 1% nationally for both Core Surgical Training and ST3 National Selection, completed a Distinction MSc in Trauma & Orthopaedics at the University of Edinburgh, and successfully passed the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination in 2026.

Today, alongside my clinical practice and research, I’m passionate about helping the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons prepare with confidence. OrthoRevision FRCS brings together everything I believe effective revision should be.
